《Spread 01: Awaken》은 내면에서 시작된 행복의 씨앗이 충분한 시간을 거쳐 아름답게 꽃을 피우는 순간을 담은 미디어아트 작품이다. 동글이(Dongli)는 꽃과 하나가 되어 생명의 순환과 성장의 기쁨을 상징하며, 하나의 원이 다른 원과 닿아 빛을 나누고, 그 빛이 다시 주변으로 번져나가는 과정을 그린다.
꽃은 누구와도 경쟁하지 않는다. 각자의 계절에, 각자의 속도로 피어날 뿐이다. 이 작품은 우리 또한 자신만의 리듬을 믿고 성장할 때 가장 아름다운 순간을 맞이할 수 있다는 메시지를 전하며, 《Spread》 시리즈의 첫 번째 작품으로서 앞으로 이어질 확산의 이야기를 예고한다.
Every living thing blooms in its own time. Spread 01: Awaken, the first work in the artist's ongoing Spread series, captures the moment a seed of happiness — nurtured quietly within — takes the time it needs and comes into bloom. Dongli becomes one with the flower, embodying the cycle of life and the joy of growth: one circle touches another, light passes between them, and that light continues to spread outward.
A flower competes with no one. It blooms only in its own season, at its own pace. The work carries a simple belief — that we, too, find our most beautiful moment when we trust our own rhythm and allow ourselves to grow accordingly — and sets the tone for the series that follows: happiness as something that spreads further the more it connects.
